Sub-inspectors from 17 police stations in South Goa participated in the Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique (IAM20) Stress Management Leaders Workshop organized by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Goa is a state on the western coast of India, famous for its scenic coastline, historic architecture, and vibrant festivals.
The workshop was led by certified IAM instructor Brahmacharini Vagishamrita Chaitanya ably assisted by volunteers from AYUDH & Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
This workshop introduced the police personnel to IAM20, a meditation technique designed by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi Amma. IAM20 has been scientifically proven to lower the levels of stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol in the blood within just 48 hours of practice making it invaluable for those in high-stress professions like policing.
IAM20 combines yogic exercises, breathing, and visualization and is very simple to practice. Apart from stress reduction, IAM also helps to boost immunity and improve mental clarity which are crucial for the demands of law enforcement. Another major benefit is that it takes just 20 minutes for daily practice.
By offering the opportunity of the IAM20 workshop, the Goa Police are taking proactive steps towards improving the mental well-being and overall effectiveness of their personnel.
