National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raipur organized Stress Management Workshop with Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique for Professors, PhD. Research Scholars & M.Tech students with an aim to enhance the overall well-being. The workshop was held at APJ Abdul Kalam Yoga Hall at NIT Campus.

Brahmacharini Amritatmika Chaitanya and Brahmacharini Niseema, certified IAM instructors from Amrita University, led the workshop. The session encompassed a series of gentle stretching exercises, followed by Pranayama (breathing techniques), guided meditation and visualization practices to foster inner peace and well-being.

Created by the world renowned humanitarian and spiritual leader Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, lovingly known as Amma, IAM is a scientifically proven technique, research indicating that consistent practice of IAM20 significantly reduces stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol.

Samir Bajpai, Professor at NIT remarked, “This program has the potential to significantly enhance our mental and physical health. The daily practice of IAM will help us manage stress better, stay focused during lectures, and connect with our students on a deeper level. We believe IAM can bring positive change to our campus environment by promoting well-being and positivity among faculty and students alike”

“We often feel overwhelmed by our studies and personal lives. We will be able to handle the stressful things more calmly as they occur. It will help to provide a great start to the day with a calm mind and a sense of peace and harmony”, remarked students.
