(POIAM, leaders workshop, conclave, industry heads, Pune, meditation) ‘Power of IAM Leaders Conclave’ , one of its kind, was conducted on 11 August, 2018 at the Sheraton Grand, Pune. The conclave jointly organized by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham,Kerala and Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Pune addressed the importance of leaders in varied fields to prioritize self-empowerment through meditation amidst their busy work lives.

‘Meditation is a powerful remedy for the turbulent times”, said Mr Vijay K Nambiar, former UN Secretary General’s Special Advisor on Myanmar and Chef de Cabinet under former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. He encouraged leaders of various institutions to use meditation to succeed in today’s competitive and changing world Mr Vijay K Nambiar emphasized how leaders should help build the ability to face disruption constructively. He also said that the Integrated Amrita Meditation (IAM) technique that embodies the universal compassion of its creator Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) would help leaders build the capacity to be centred in a strong core. Dr Vijay P Bhatkar, architect of India’s national initiative in supercomputing and Chancellor of Nalanda University offered felicitations. Dr Bhatkar affirmed the fact that yoga and meditation have been a way of life for thousands of years in India. Br Nijamrita Chaitanya, Head of Delhi centre of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math explained the unique features of the Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique. Leaders discussed concrete and measurable actions that they could take to kick-start a meditation practice amidst their busy schedules in a panel discussion on ‘Meditation as a tool for Self-Empowerment for Leaders’ chaired by Dr Shanti Kumar Nair, Dean of Research, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Director, Amrita Centre for Nano sciences and Molecular Medicine.

Bramhacharinis Praveena, Niseema & Jisha, professors from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus who are certified IAM instructors guided the guests through an immersive workshop on the Integrated Amrita Meditation (IAM) technique. .

This path-breaking event , the second of its kind, brought together director level executives from government institutions, C-suite business leaders of Indian & multinational companies, senior decision makers, opinion formers, and top professionals from education, culture, arts, health, sports and media for inspiring and creating a catalyst for exchange of fresh thinking and partnerships. Air Marshal CK Ranjan, AVSM, VSM, Director & Commandant, Armed Forces Medical College; Mr Ajay Kumar, Airport Director; Mr Bhausaheb Patil, Director (Operations), Sakal Media Group; Mr Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Actor; Ms Anjali Bhagwat, Professional Indian shooter & world cup winner, Ms Rekha Dubey, CEO, Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital, Mr. Dhananjay Kumar, Director, Business Development, Thor Power Corporation, Mr Sunil Mutha, Western Head ACMA, were some among who attended the Conclave at Pune. Br Avyamrita Chaitanya, Head, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mumbai gave away certificates to the guests. A similar event was held at Kochi, Kerala last September.
