Young women including students and faculty from various Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham campuses and professionals from Karnataka Bank , Dow Chemicals, Antal International Network etc. came together for a three-day ‘StressManagement through Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique ’ virtual workshop from 22 – 24 July 2020. The participants joined from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, AndhraPradesh and Maharashtra. After the workshop, the participants remarked that they felt thoroughly relaxed and peaceful; light and refreshed. Some said that they felt active with no lethargy and reduced anger for rest of the day. About what they liked best about IAM20, the participants said, “Simplicity of the technique”; “The combination of exercises and meditation is good”; “short and effective”; “easier to concentrate”, “so easy that I can do it within 20 minutes”, “exercise made me active and relaxed” “The relaxation exercises are new in a meditation session”. “the body feels a lot more active and stretched before we try and focus to meditate” They also mentioned that although it was a virtual workshop, they could easily follow the steps, concentrate and see the benefits. “The instructions were so clear, we could follow even with closed eyes”. “The instructor individually focused on each of us telling when we weren’t doing it right and helping us.” The participants thanked the Office of Youth Empowerment, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus for the workshop and many are looking forward to joining a refresher session soon.
